Again most of the 35mm slides from Greece, the Greek Islands and Crete have been lost. We were fascinated by the myth of the Minotaur and bull jumping on Crete. I have had to borrow some pics from the Internet.

Unearthing the tragic sacrifice of Australia’s lost platoon

Eighty-five years ago, 274 Australians gave their lives in the defence of Greece. One action during the Battle of Crete at Rethymno on 27 May 1941, reminds us of their heroism. Killed: 274 soldiers. Wounded: 507 soldiers. Prisoners of War: 3,102 soldiers captured or left behind.
